The two fantastic charities I supported
This was a personal challenge, but it was also a great opportunity to help raise much needed funds for two local charities that are very dear to me. there’s a little bit of info on them below and links to fundraising pages and their websites where you can learn more about the brilliant work they do.
I set up a Team Page on justgiving so I could raise funds for both charities, hopefully everyone will decide to split their donation between the two charities and that way, they can both do even more to help the amazing children and young adults. in case you missed the earlier links heres a link to the TEAM PAGE
The reason I chose these two charities is pretty simple really, I am very fortunate to be Grandad to five beautiful grandchildren, Thomas, Isabelle, George, Poppy and Harry who all bring loads of fun and happiness into our lives, but sadly, with our Isabelle who suffers from severe complex epilepsy, sometimes that happiness can turn into heartache and pain that no parent or Grandparent should ever have to experience. Our Isabelle receives respite care from Birtenshaw who do an amazing job in acting for her while she’s with them, you can read more about Our Belle’s story on our Justgiving page for Birtenshaw CLICK HERE
Then there’s our George who has been diagnosed on the Autistic Spectrum, and while he looks just like any other little boy his autism has lead to him being quite different in many ways. Things that are taken for granted like simple choices can build into a traumatic experience for him and this where Breaking Barriers really help, you can read more about Our Georges story on our Justgiving Page for Breaking Barriers CLICK HERE
