Well, preparations are under way for #7in7 reccy of what will eventually be consecutive Day 6 of 7. Not quite sure what type of landscape to expect over the North Yorks Moors, but hopefully it’ll be a bit more stimulating than the last few miles of Day 5 which ended up being mostly on roads and across a few fields, still great running nevertheless and far better than being sat in watching the telly.
My brother Marc has managed to get a checkpoint in and meet me at around 7’ish miles into the run so I’ll not need to take as much drink for stage 1 which helps, although he can’t find a suitable place to meet up after checkpoint 2 which is about 14 miles into the day, so i’ll need to get enough food and drink to last the rest of the reccy which should be around another 13 miles. the additional checkpoints on earlier recipes have proved to be a great idea, it let’s you have a break, carry less fluid and gels etc plus breaks the first half marathon up. Although it’s not that good when you ask “are you OK” and his reply is “yep fine, I found a café so had coffee and bacon butties for breakfast”
